On Wednesday this week (17th) the Methodist Church advised that worship services, business meetings and fellowship groups should be suspended from now and for the foreseeable future. This means that from this Sunday 22nd March we will not be holding services at High Street or Redcliffe Bay Methodist Churches.
COVID-19 AND CHURCH RE-OPENING At the time of going to press (20th June) we are being advised by our national leadership that our buildings should remain closed for the time being. This seems to be in tension with the government’s advice that churches can open for private prayer and that in July they may be able to open for small gatherings. Another decision will be made and communicated early in July. For our buildings to re-open we will need to adhere to strict guidelines regarding social distancing and cleaning. Please be assured that the leadership teams of both churches and the circuit staff are in regular communication and as soon as we are advised that we can open and open safely we will do so. In the meantime please continue to pray for those in government who are making decisions, for national church bodies who are responding to guidelines passed on to them and for those involved in finding a cure for Covid-19.
